Mr. Neal B. Oberg
|
Mr. Neal Oberg graduated from the University of Alberta in 1972 with a BSc. of Agriculture, and in 1991 with a Masters of Agriculture from a joint program with the Faculty of Business. Neal Oberg has served on many Provincial Boards, providing leadership in evaluating programs of research, guiding efforts in applied research, financing of projects and commercialization of consumer products. These boards included the Alberta Agriculture Research Institute (AARI), Alberta Life Sciences Institute(ALSI), Alberta Science and Research Authority (ASRA), and the Agriculture Value-Added Corporation Ltd. (AVAC). Neal currently is Chair of the Audit Committee for AVAC. Neal also chairs two additional audit committees: Flax Canada 2015 Ltd., and BioProducts Alberta. He was President and CEO of one of North America’s first manufacturing plants to make use of agricultural fibre for construction-grade formaldehyde-free building panels. This was a green product before “green” was in vogue, and led the industry into a new environmental consciousness. Mr. Oberg is familiar with the research, development, and commercialization of consumer products from a hands-on perspective of planning through production. |
